Slab Leak Repair in Carlsbad

Performed electronic leak detection and found leak source under concrete slab between stairs and southeast exterior corner wall of unit 103 – 1/2” recirculating copper line approximately 12” under concrete slab. Repairs were made by saw cutting and jackhammered concrete slabs. Excavated grade and exposed section of 1/2” recirculating copper line with large pinhole. Shut off water heater, recirculating pump and water service to building. Cut out section of 1/2” copper line with pinhole leak and installed new section of 1/2” type L copper pipe along with two couplers. Tested repair by restoring water service to building. Bled air out of piping. Turned on water heater and recirculating pump. Tested good, no other leaks found at this time. Backfilled trench and ruff patch concrete. Complete clean up of work area.
