Slab Leak Repair in Escondido

Upon arrival at the job site, the tenant gave permission to access the unit to perform leak detection and slab leak repair. The technician performed electronic leak detection and located the leak source on the hot water main in the dining room area of the unit. Removed one layer of laminate and three layers of linoleum in the immediate leak source area under concrete slab. Jackhammered concrete and excavated grade and exposed 1 1/4” hot side copper main. Completely exposed section of 1 1/4” hot side copper main with two large pinhole leaks. Took photos and showed findings to customer. Repair was made by shutting down the hot water system and shutting off the water service to the building. Cut out section of hot side copper main with pinhole leak. Prepared and cleaned connection points. Installed new section of 1 1/4” type L copper pipe along with two new couplings. Tested repair by restoring water service to building and turned on hot water system. Tested good, no leaks. Backfilled trench with new sand and patched concrete. Complete clean up of work area.
